Born on 20th November 2008, into a middle-class family, Debadrita found her passion for writing at the age of twelve. Though born in Kolkata, she was raised in a small town, "Haripal," in the Hooghly district of West Bengal.  She loved the tradition of poetry more than any other form of literature.  At fourteen, she suffered heavily from mental illness, and then she found writing, not only a form of literature but also a way of healing for her.
