Debadrita Sarkar: A Young Writer from a Small Town Reaching The World
Born on 20th November 2008, into a middle-class family, Debadrita found her passion for writing at the age of twelve. Though born in Kolkata, she was raised in a small town, "Haripal," in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. She loved the tradition of poetry more than any other form of literature. At fourteen, she suffered heavily from mental illness, and then she found writing, not only a form of literature but also a way of healing for her. She took her literary career seriously after realizing this. Her publishing journey started at fifteen, and at sixteen, she started writing books. Now, Debadrita Sarkar is an author, co-author, bilingual writer, bilingual poet, essayist, compiler, blogger, podcaster, self-illustrator, editor, record holder, and advocate for the environment, self-compassion, and human rights.
