Matri Samman 2025: Celebrating the Soul of Durga Puja, the Living Heritage of Bengal.

Matri Samman is not just an award, it is a celebration of Bengal’s living heritage - a platform that honors the artistry, creativity, and devotion that make Durga Puja the heartbeat of Kolkata. 

This year’s journey began with the much-awaited banner launch, the symbolic curtain-raiser that announced the spirit of Pujo was near. The city then turned into an open-air museum. During our Judgement Parikrama, where every pandal stood as a gallery, every idol a masterpiece, every theme a story told in colors and lights. The Matri Samman Awards recognized and celebrated those puja committees and artisans who poured their imagination into tradition, keeping alive the grandeur of Bengal’s biggest festival. And finally, the Bijoya Baithak offered a warm closing note ~ an evening of reflection, camaraderie, and the timeless shubho bijoya spirit.
In its essence, Matri Samman 2025 was more than an event - it was a journey. A journey from the first banner to the last bijoya hug, from celebration to remembrance, from tradition to tomorrow.
